Language is a vital skill and the more languages a student knows, the greater will be the capacity to learn. Beyond linguistic skills, Communication Skills also include the ability to get across your ideas, describe your experiences and even express your feelings about something. Finally, communication is also about the ability to listen, to understand, and to empathise.
REAL Schools has a strong emphasis on languages and we will give your child a solid foundation in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin, both written and spoken, through our enhanced languages programme.
Students of REAL Schools’ National curriculum will learn Cambridge IGCSE-level English to ensure mastery of the language.
International School students have the opportunity to pursue Mandarin at an elite level as our Mandarin classes follow the Independent Chinese School curriculum. Our National Schools offer the option of SPM Mandarin as a first language.
Students in our International School will have the opportunity to learn SPM-level Bahasa Malaysia.
We have revamped our REAL Schools’ libraries to be beautiful spaces where every student can fall in love with reading because that is one of the best tools to learn communication. We organise regular “Reading Challenges” where students will visit the library for storytelling and oral reading sessions. They are also required to read a number of selected books, and write about what they have read in their journal.
All our students are encouraged to participate in public speaking, persuasive writing projects, debates and creative communication exercises through their involvement in the Performing Arts.
We live in a VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) that is being shaped by the 4th and 5th industrial revolutions. At R.E.A.L Schools we believe that REAL education prepares students for the REAL world. Our team of educators have put together a unique and enhanced school curriculum that makes education relevant and exciting and will ensure that your child is ready to thrive in the REAL world.
