RISS Career Guidance Trip across the Causeway

26 June 2012

The Pastoral Department of R.E.A.L International Schools, Suria Campus, Cheras; led by Ms. Melanie Liu, conducted a four-day, four-night career guidance trip to Singapore from the 17th to 21st of June 2012. The trip was opened to Year 11 students who had recently sat for their IGCSE examinations.

The group departed on Sunday night by train and upon arriving in Singapore, duly began their tour with a visit to the LaSalle College of Arts. Following an informative video presentation which highlighted all the courses available, career pathways, as well as a tour of the college facilities, the group then had lunch and proceeded to the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Here, the group was able to view the setups of the various faculties and had an enjoyable time viewing the fantastic artworks done by the graduates. The day ended with a visit to the Andy Warhol and Harry Potter Exhibition at the Singapore ArtScience Museum.

The next day, the group visited Digipen Singapore and was awed by the high-end multimedia work accomplished by Digipen students. Following that was a trip to the Science Centre and Imax Theatre.

The third day saw the group visiting Universal Studios and the students had a blast experiencing the many thrilling productions and rides. At the end of the day, they were clearly thrilled to bits despite being thoroughly exhausted.

The group then left for home on Thursday via the morning train and it was ensured that each and every student was safely received by their parents before heading home for a much-welcomed rest. It was certainly well-deserved following such an educational and fun-filled trip.
